Album: The Magician's Birthday
Artist: Uriah Heep
Release Date: 1 November 1972
Date Listened: 23 February 2018
Remarks: For background, Uriah Heep is something I should love. Heavy prog is a pretty fair description and they precede most of the other bands in the same genre. This record is my only real foray into their oeuvre and unfortunately, I'm not a big fan. The vocals and songwriting (or lack thereof) are not so great, for all the aesthetics. However, on the last and titular track, they show that they have true instrumental skill– kazoo solo and all.
Stand Out Tracks: Blind Eye, Rain, Sweet Lorraine, The Magician's Birthday
